Body Wash / Hand Soap
Mix 1/2 cup Castile soap with 1/2 cup distilled water. For a thicker gel-like soap, instead heat 1 cup Castile soap on a stovetop and slowly stir in up to 1/2 cup kosher salt until mixture begins to thicken. Remove from heat and allow too cool before using. The mixture will thicken further as it cools.
Shampoo
Mix 2 tbsp. Castile soap with 1 cup distilled water. Follow with an acidic rinse to balance the pH of your hair. For a homemade rinse, mix 1 part lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to 8 parts water.
Facial Cleanser
Mix 1 tbsp. Castile soap, 1 cup distilled water, and 1/2 cup witch hazel. For facial wipes, pour over washcloths and store.
Lathering Shave Soap
Rub a few drops of Castile soap between wet hands and lather onto face, legs, or body.
Hand Wash Dish Soap
Mix 1 part Castile soap to 2 parts water and hand wash dishes.
All-Purpose Cleaning Spray
Mix 1/4 cup Castile soap with 4 cups warm water.
Ant Repellent
Mix2 tbsp. Castile soap and 4 cups water and wipe surfaces.
Kitchen and Bathroom Scrubbing Cleaner
Mix 1/4 cup Castile soap, 3/4 cup baking soda, and 1 tbsp. water. After mixing well, slowly add 1 tbsp, vinegar and stir to achieve a paste-like consistency. Add baking soda as desired to thicken the paste. Store in an empty soap container.
Window Cleaner
Mix 1 tbsp. Castile soap with 2 cups water in a spray bottle.
Laundry Detergent
Boil 4 cups of water and slowly dissolve 1/2 cup washing soda, 1/4 cup baking soda, and 1/4 cup kosher salt. Allow to cool then add 12 cups water and slowly stir in 1 cup Castile soap. Shake before use and use 1/2 cup per load.
